U of M reissues three Sigrid Undset titles
Three books by Sigrid Undset (True and Untrue and Other Norse Tales, Happy Times in Norway, and Sigurd and His Brave Companions) are being re-released by University of Minnesota Press.
The only one of these I’ve read before is Happy Times in Norway, which, while it was able to hold my attention given my interest in Undset, was a bit sentimental for my tastes (unusual for Undset; I think this has somethign to do with the fact that she was in exile when she wrote it, and was yearning for her homeland). But the other two books look very interesting, one a book of retellings of Norwegian folktales, the other what appears to be a novel heavily inspired by history and legends.
Edvard and Jorunn are giving me so much trouble again that I’m wondering if they’re even worth it.
